How Can Social Media Help Nonprofits Succeed?
By Sarina Smith Nowadays, an active and engaging social media account plays a key role in helping spread the word in an efficient way. Our social media teams, like Instagram and TikTok, have been making content for On the Same Page Boston in order to raise awareness for our mission. On these platforms, engaging through commenting, liking, and sharing helps boost views and motivates others to donate books. For example, Amnesty International, a human-rights non-governmental

Buy a book, donate a book this weekend
By Rina Laby This Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., the Boston Public Library will be holding its bimonthly City-Wide Friends Book Sale at the Copley Square branch. At the same time, in 2022, 58% of Boston public schools’ lacked their own full-time libraries with staff. This is mainly due to a lack of funding at many schools that can't afford to maintain these facilities. This is why On The Same Page is collecting books—because we believe that all students in Boston deserve

Literacy Crisis in the U.S.
By Sarina Smith For about a decade, there has been a steady decline in reading skills, noted by the U.S. National Assessment of Educational Progress Long-Term Trend Reading Assessments. Recent factors like the pandemic and screen usage have been blamed as the cause, but there is no definitive correlation yet because the decline started in the mid 2010’s. Whatever the cause, higher literacy rates are a vital part of students' success. According to the National Literacy Inst

Genres, genres, genres...
By Rina Laby The team members of On The Same Page Boston mostly consider themselves readers. If not now, every member at least has a favorite childhood book that they recall fondly. For collateral team member Courtney, “Projekt 1065” by Alan Gratz was most memorable. The book is a historical fiction novel about a young Irish boy who lives in Nazi Germany and works as a spy for the Allies within the Hitler Youth. A tale of great courage, it still sticks with Courtney today.

An Interview with Jazlyn Compton
By Sarina Smith Jazlyn Compton is a dedicated student who is part of our collateral team. Thank you for your support!
On behalf of our class and the Ohrenberger school, thank you so much for a wonderful close to our fall semester. For the past three months, our class took on the challenge of collecting books for the Ohrenberger’s library. During the journey we met with some of the kids who had received books already. When we visited, kids had a ton of great things to say about the library. Books really do impact kids so much! For us, it’s about the journey as much as it's about our fundrais

How to Start a Free Little Library in Your Community
Tam Silverman November 4th, 2025 Here at On the Same Page, we’re all about bringing books to kids who deserve them.
